Which items should a quote include?

A clear quote lists each item separately. If one is missing, ask whether it is included.

Which costs are not always visible?

  • Higher contracted electrical power and changes to the consumer unit.
  • Flushing the old circuit (sludge, rust) before connecting the heat pump.
  • Replacing radiators that do not give enough heat at low temperature.
  • Removing and making inert the heating oil tank.
  • Access equipment: crane, scaffolding or lifting to the roof.
  • Building work: plinth, wall penetrations, making good.
  • Shipping to the island for units and bulky materials.
  • Planning permission or notification to the town hall, if the work requires it.

How do you compare two quotes?

  1. Same output and same scope. Check both size a similar output and cover the same things (heating, cooling, hot water, pool).
  2. Exact model. Brand, model, refrigerant and SCOP at your home's water temperature.
  3. Item by item. Use the table above as a checklist.
  4. What is excluded. Exclusions are usually at the end of the quote.
  5. Warranties and maintenance. Warranty periods for the unit and the installation, and who handles breakdowns.
  6. Timescale and payment terms.

Which signs should make you wary?

  • A price without a visit for a complete installation.
  • Output chosen only by floor area, without studying the house.
  • A one-line quote with no breakdown.
  • No brand or model for the unit.
  • Exact savings promised without knowing your current consumption.
  • Grants taken for granted without explaining requirements or deadlines.
  • A company not authorised as a thermal installer (RITE).

Frequently asked questions

Why do quotes vary so much?

Because they do not always include the same things. One may include the cylinder, boiler removal and registration, and another may not. Compare item by item.

Is installing in Ibiza more expensive than on the mainland?

Shipping materials to the island and travel can make some items more expensive. We show this in the quote rather than hiding it in other lines.

What output do I need?

It depends on the home's heat loss, not just its floor area. The calculator gives a first estimate and the site visit confirms it.

How much does maintenance cost?

Can I pay in instalments?

What warranty does the installation have?

The unit has the manufacturer's warranty and the installation the installer's. [DATO PENDIENTE: plazos de garantía que ofrece Climai Group]

Is a cheaper unit worse?

Not necessarily. Correct sizing and good workmanship matter more than the brand or the unit's price.
