Heat pump cost for a villa in Ibiza

In short

In a villa, the price of a heat pump depends on output, the number of zones, hot water for many bathrooms, the pool and cooling. This guide explains each item and what to ask when comparing offers.

Why is a villa not priced like a flat?

In a villa the heat pump does more than heat: it usually also cools, supplies hot water for many bathrooms and often heats the pool. Each service adds output, equipment and controls, and that shows in the price.

What matters most:

  • Total output, which depends on the home's heat loss, not just its floor area.
  • The number of zones with independent control: bedrooms, living room, guest house.
  • Hot water: bathrooms, peak summer occupancy and showers running at the same time.
  • The pool, if you want a longer swimming season.
  • Cooling: underfloor cooling, fan coils or both.
  • Distances between the outdoor unit, the plant room and the house.

How much does it cost by size and services?

Indicative ranges for a complete installation (units, hot water cylinder, fitting and commissioning). Grants and building work are not included.

Which quote items are specific to a villa?

On top of the items in any installation (see the price guide), a villa usually adds these:

ItemWhat it is
Cascaded unitsTwo or more heat pumps that share the load and back each other up
Buffer tankStores water so the units do not keep starting and stopping
Large hot water cylinderOr several, depending on bathrooms and occupancy
Hot water recirculationSo hot water reaches distant bathrooms quickly
Manifolds and zone controlThermostats and valves for each zone
Fan coilsAir units to cool and dehumidify quickly
Pool heat exchangerTo heat the pool from the same installation
Remote managementPhone control and fault alerts
Technical designIf thermal output exceeds 70 kW (RITE, art. 15)

Which costs are not always visible in a villa?

  • Increasing the contracted electrical power and sometimes changing the tariff or supply connection.
  • Trenches and buried pipework when the outdoor unit is far from the house.
  • Plinths and acoustic screens so the units are not heard from the terrace or by neighbours.
  • Visual integration: louvres or enclosures to hide the outdoor units.
  • Removing the old system: boilers, heating oil or propane tanks.
  • Difficult access: narrow tracks, a crane or special transport to the property.

What should you decide before asking for a quote?

  1. Which services you want: heating, cooling, hot water and pool.
  2. How the house is used: all year, summer only or as a holiday let.
  3. Where the equipment can go: outdoor unit, plant room and cylinders.
  4. Whether you will add solar panels: it changes how consumption is spread. See heat pumps with solar panels.
  5. New build or renovation: in a new build it pays to join the project early. See heat pumps in new builds.

How do you compare two quotes for a villa?

  • Same scope: both cover the same services and the same zones.
  • Justified output: ask for the load calculation, not just a number.
  • Number of units: one large unit or several in cascade, and why.
  • Controls: what you can do from your phone and which alerts it sends.
  • Maintenance: who does it, how often and at what cost. See the maintenance guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does a villa need one heat pump or several?

It depends on total output and how the house is used. Above a certain size, two or more cascaded units usually make sense: if one stops, the other keeps running, and in mild weather only one works. We decide this in the study.

Can the same heat pump heat the pool?

Yes, with a pool heat exchanger, or with a dedicated pool heat pump. Which is better depends on the pool size and when it is used. We explain it in the pool price guide.

What if the villa is empty part of the year?

An away mode keeps the house protected with low consumption, and you can switch it on from your phone before arriving. It is worth including in the controls quote.

Do I need a technical design?

Under the RITE, between 5 and 70 kW of thermal output a technical report is enough; above 70 kW a design signed by a qualified engineer is required. Many villas stay below that, but not all.

Will I need more electrical capacity?

It is common in villas moving from heating oil or propane to a heat pump. We check the contracted power and the consumer unit on the visit, and it is a separate line in the quote.

Do you also handle maintenance?

Yes. In a villa with several units and a pool, a maintenance plan makes sense. [DATO PENDIENTE: condiciones y precio del mantenimiento de Climai Group]
