Heat pumps in Sant Josep de sa Talaia: tax rebates, grants and service
In short
Today Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council only reduces IBI and ICIO for solar energy, not for heat pumps. For a heat pump, the active routes are CAE and income tax deductions; if you add solar panels, that part may qualify.

Does Sant Josep de sa Talaia reduce IBI or ICIO for heat pumps?
Not today. The rebates offered by Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council are for systems that use solar energy. None of them mentions heat pumps or ambient energy.
| Tax | Current rebate | Includes heat pumps? |
|---|---|---|
| IBI (property tax) | 50% of the tax for 3 years, once per home (art. 3.3). | No |
| ICIO (building tax) | We found no renewable energy rebate in the current text we located (BOIB no. 160 of 2014, art. 7). | No |
Our shop and office are in Sant Josep (Carrer dels Polls, 27), so this is the municipality closest to us.
What conditions does the solar rebate set?
- The installation must cover at least 50% of the home's energy needs through self-consumption.
- It applies from the tax period after the application.
- The planning notification or permit, as applicable, and the installation's approvals are required.
- A certificate from a qualified engineer or architect describing the installation is required.
What if I combine a heat pump with solar panels?
It is a common combination: the heat pump uses electricity and the panels cover part of it. The solar part may qualify for the rebate if it meets the conditions above. We help you gather the technical documents.
Could this change soon?
Since 22 March 2026, the local finance law allows town halls to reduce IBI by up to 50% and ICIO by up to 95% for installations that use solar or ambient energy, which includes heat pumps. For this to apply in Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council has to amend its bylaw. As of 18 October 2026 we have found no amendment in progress.
Which other grants are there?
National schemes apply in Sant Josep de sa Talaia as anywhere else in Spain:
