Heat pumps in Sant Joan de Labritja: tax rebates, grants and service
In short
Today Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council only reduces IBI and ICIO for solar energy, not for heat pumps. For a heat pump, the active routes are CAE and income tax deductions; if you add solar panels, that part may qualify.

Does Sant Joan de Labritja reduce IBI or ICIO for heat pumps?
Not today. The rebates offered by Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council are for systems that use solar energy. None of them mentions heat pumps or ambient energy.
| Tax | Current rebate | Includes heat pumps? |
|---|---|---|
| IBI (property tax) | 50% of the tax for 3 years, up to €600 a year and never more than 50% of the investment (art. 4.2). | No |
| ICIO (building tax) | 50% of the part of the work that corresponds to the solar system (art. 4.2). | No |
What conditions does the solar rebate set?
- The installation must cover at least 40% of the property's energy, be approved and not be compulsory.
- It must be requested within 6 months of registering the installation with the regional government, and before 31 March to count that year.
- One rebate per home; installations that only sell energy do not qualify.
- The ICIO rebate is requested with the self-assessment, proving the cost of the solar part.
What if I combine a heat pump with solar panels?
It is a common combination: the heat pump uses electricity and the panels cover part of it. The solar part may qualify for the rebate if it meets the conditions above. We help you gather the technical documents.
Could this change soon?
Since 22 March 2026, the local finance law allows town halls to reduce IBI by up to 50% and ICIO by up to 95% for installations that use solar or ambient energy, which includes heat pumps. For this to apply in Sant Joan de Labritja, Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council has to amend its bylaw. As of 18 October 2026 we have found no amendment in progress.
Which other grants are there?
National schemes apply in Sant Joan de Labritja as anywhere else in Spain:
