Does Sant Antoni de Portmany reduce IBI or ICIO for heat pumps?

Not today. The rebates offered by Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council are for systems that use solar energy. None of them mentions heat pumps or ambient energy.

According to the town council's procedures page, the IBI rebate is requested from the ATIB (Balearic tax agency) and applies from the following year.

What conditions does the solar rebate set?

  • It is requested in the first quarter of each year and is not retroactive.
  • The installation must be at least 3 kW.
  • It is not granted if the installation is compulsory; solar thermal collectors must be approved.
  • The regional energy department's commissioning report must be attached.
  • Only one of the rebates in that section can be claimed (for example, not together with the EV charger rebate).

What if I combine a heat pump with solar panels?

It is a common combination: the heat pump uses electricity and the panels cover part of it. The solar part may qualify for the rebate if it meets the conditions above. We help you gather the technical documents.

Could this change soon?

Since 22 March 2026, the local finance law allows town halls to reduce IBI by up to 50% and ICIO by up to 95% for installations that use solar or ambient energy, which includes heat pumps. For this to apply in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council has to amend its bylaw. As of 18 October 2026 we have found no amendment in progress.
